Welcome aboard of Green Plant Protection!

Green Plant Protection (GPP) is shortcut of the project under the title of Utilization of advances of ICT developments in mobile learning in order to promote interactive learning for adult people in the field of ecological agriculture.

GPP will provide an easy accessing of all what is important to know about plant protection in ecological agriculture. Plant protection is focused on Slovakian conditions, as there is no such comprehensive source available until now in the country. The project will provide useful information for developing environmentally safe agricultural technologies heading to sustainable development that is one of the top priorities of European Union.

was to create web sites under the title of

www.greenplantprotection.eu and www.econewfarmer.eu

 

to enable users learning on the go, using mobile and handheld information technology devices, such as Personal Digital Assistants, mobile telephones, laptops and tablet PC technologies, because mobile learning is the perfect solution for today’s mobile community.
The project will contribute to the setting and testing of processes leading to the ensure quality in further professional training, preparation, and lifelong learning. Mobile devices can be used anywhere, anytime, including at home, on the train, in the field, what is invaluable for work-based training. The method will promote informal learning and increase the volume of cooperation between universities and companies (farmers). The project and its deliverables will offer additional career development training for users, and the practical implications of the project could significantly contribute to a reduction in the use of pesticides in agriculture, what are the main impacts envisaged.

The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra is an educational and scientific institution whose main aim is to provide students with a university education, drawing on scientific knowledge in agriculture and neighboring areas, as well as on creative scientific research. Following national and generally human traditions, the SUA is a significant part of the Slovak Republic's academic and research institutions network.

The research and development projects carried out at the university are focused especially on the examination of biological, technical, economical and social phenomena and processes, ensuring better utilization of country’s biological potential, production of non-harmful foods and other needs of the population, respecting protection and creation of the environment. A significant role is also played by research project analyzing transformation processes in the society and regional development, rational natural resources utilization and protection and national heritage protection.

 

The Polytechnic Institute of Viseu is a public higher education institution with 5 schools and 7000 students. It offers higher training in several fields, such as teacher training, media studies, cultural studies, sports, multimedia, engineering, management, marketing, tourism, agrarian sciences and nursing. It includes a multidisciplinary research centre and is oriented to stress the cooperation with the surround community promoting awareness of regional problems and the implementation of proper solutions. The Agrarian School’s (ESAV) specific expertise are in integrated production and organic farming, ecology, forestry, animal production, food science and technoloy and veterinary nursing.

 

MÖGÉRT association was formed in 2004 to develop ecological farming in Hungary. Its main field of activity is to collect and unify other organizations with similar orientations as an umbrella association. More specifically the association develops research and education initiatives related to ecological farming, organizes education and training courses, prepares studies related to ecological farming abroad and establishes liaisons between foreign and home organizations. In MÖGÉRT, there are different kinds of sections related to the most important topics of ecological farming (research and education) materializing the dissemination of ecological farming research and establishing educational programs. The different sections keep contact with other ecological farming associations, organizations, as well as controller and producer enterprises home and abroad.

 

BIOCERT is a scientific and technical no-profit association, involved in initiatives of Agro-environmental development. Biocert is member of IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agricultural Movements), AIAB (Italian Association for the organic farming) and BIOMEDITERRANEO (Consortium for the organic products marketing). Actively contributes to the renewal of processes concerning eco-sustainable development, starting from primary sector, throughout: training, planning and research. Biocert has participated in the elaboration of 9 innovative European training models for the ecological farming.

 

Mustafa Kemal University (MKU) is a state university, composed of 12 faculties, 18 vocational colleges, 18 research centers and 3 institutes whose activity is to reach, produce, apply and promote knowledge, and to educate individuals for the social, cultural, economic, scientific and technological development of our society and humanity. This is to be done by bringing teaching, research and social services up to universal standards. Mustafa Kemal University/Faculty of Agriculture offers both B.Sc., B.A. and Ph.D. degrees in several areas. Specific expertise of the Agriculture Faculty is: field crops, organic farming, animal science, horticulture, food science, agricultural economics, agricultural structures and irrigation, agricultural machinery, plant protection and soil science. National and international projects on enhancing the sustainable development of organic agriculture and related sectors.

 

EOSA was founded in 1993 as a firm specialized in strategy consultancy and professional training, targeting both the public and private sectors. The team is formed by 32 professionals, gathering altogether a great expertise. It works with public bodies and private entities, in the development of efficient solutions, tailored to the customer’s needs. We have six campuses at Aberdeen, Ayr, Broxburn, Cupar, Dumfries and Edinburgh along with 27 consultancy offices and eight veterinary disease surveillance centres. We offer courses in the areas of agriculture, applied animal science, biosciences, horticulture, sport, tourism and outdoor pursuits, business, countryside and environmental management, sustainability and sustainable building technology from access level right up to PhD.
